Hi there,I've been offered a position at Accenture Digital at the Principal level. Never heard of this level/grade before. Could anyone shed any light on what it is? Is it an equivalent of Manager?Many thanks.

Should be Senior Manager.

Thank you. I've asked their HR department and they told me it was equivalent to Manager. Senior Principal would be Senior Manager's equivalent.

principal level at ACN means you are aligned to their IT&L practice (you are considered as a SME).

Still mulling over the offer. it does sound a bit crazy and I wonder if I should check my head before even thinking of accepting it. The offer is from Accenture Digital in Germany but I've lived in the UK for 16 years and have worked in the City of London for 15, initially as permanent staff and then moved to contracting. Contractors market is tough at the moment and I have always wanted to diversify away from just working for financial institutions. Somehow I got in touch with people from Germany, one thing led to another, I had a phone interview, then was invited to a 'personal engagement day' and got an offer the same day. We haggled about the offer for a little bit and it was 'improved'. It feels like they want me to join them more than I do but I find the opportunity to work in another country and, potentially, on a variety of projects quite attractive. Unfortunately the 'attractiveness' of the offer relies on the EUR/GBP exchange rate which is a bit volatile for my liking. My train of thoughts at the moment is to go there, work for a year, see how it goes and if I don't like it get back to contracting either in the UK or in Europe (or somewhere in Asia as I speak a bit of Mandarin).I know it's a long shot but does anyone have any experience working at Accenture in Germany? Not ACN DE, but I did work for a consulting firm in DE. It was OK. Good experience. Base location is key. NRW? I'd say... give it a try. Nothing ventured...

Duss is fine. Cologne can get congested though. I enjoyed my time there. If you travel both extensively and internationally, then it makes no difference I guess. There are loads to do - 'cultural enrichment'. NRW is very 'central'. Paris is a few hours away. From Bonn, I made it to Calais in 3.5 hours. Early morning though with no traffic. Amsterdam a few hours way. Maastricht is an hour away. Nice student city for a 20-something like myself to visit :-)

The only time I visit student cities these days is when I go to see my children.That's another reason why I question my sanity - I am no spring chicken anymore.
