Hello all,This is my first post to TopConsultant.I am 27 years old and run part of a Masters training course at one of the top Universities in New Zealand (I was a dietitian and now run a major part of the dietitian training programme). My partner and I are thinking of moving to the UK as she is British.I would like to do something different and thought consulting in either education or healthcare would be very interesting. However I don't know which firms would be the best fit for me. I have just applied as an education consultant for PA Consulting and then found this forum so thought I would ask for some advice before going any further.I have worked in allied healthcare (as a dietitian) for 3 years and have worked for the University for about 4 years now with promotion over this period. When I came to the university I was hired to help design and implement their new Masters programme so have experience in project development and management. Also, since I get discounted fees I have been very slowing doing a bachelor of commerce degree in economics. I am primarily doing this for fun but hopefully it may be of value to employers also.My questions are...1. What consulting firms would be recommended for my background and as a stepping stone into consulting?2. Although it won't be an issue for me to get a UK visa (I am under 30 and my partner is a citizen) will employers immediately bin my application if I apply before getting a visa? Thanks in advance! Any advice would be helpful.

Point 1 - Not sure. Maybe try some firms that provide consultancy to the NHS? Look for a specialised role maybe?Point 2 - Yes (assuming they know).

Hi Bushy Eyebrows,Thanks for the quick response. Not great news about the visa but that is kind of what I expected.Anyone else on the forum have any recommendations for specific consulting firms?
