PIP are heavily focused in the resources and heavy industry sectors. While they take a lot of ex: McKinsey/Bain/BCG strategy MCs, a lot of the work is actually operational improvement work at remote mining operations. Case studies are peculiar when compared to McKinsey etc because of this operational focus. PIP engagements are typically 3 to 9 months. If you end up on a remote site the pay is typically well above average for the level to compensate for remoteness of the location. It is also a great learning environment, my 4 years at PIP set me up and I have been able to leverage it into some exceptional senior roles since leaving. They do have high turnover due to travel burn-out (it's why I left). I've heard that they have made some changes in the last year or so to reduce travel stress but their client base and type of work will always make travel a key factor.I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and I highly recommend them as a firm to work for.
