Gents/LadiesFirst up, thank you for any help/info offered. It is much appreciated. Now, I have the following interview coming upPWC London - Experienced Hire - Operations (Performance Improvement)The interview consists of 1. Online Numerical and Verbal tests2. Competency based phone interview3. Technical interview4. Selection event (consisting of group ex, written ex, interview with Director/Partner).The first two I will ace with no problems. I am reaching out to anyone who has experienced the latter two (tech, and selection interviews) and asking to share their experience. Any insight is gratefully appreciated. Final q....is there a case study anywhere in this process, or does PWC just rely on resume and behavioural questions?Sj

The phone interview was based around PwC's global competencies so it may be a good idea to get familiar with them and try to come up with situations where you have shown/achieved those competencies. Some I can remember were discussing situations such as:where you developed yourself and othersSituations where you worked with difficult team members and had to make your views heard I'l try to remember some more, but focus on situations where you you worked within teams and where you dealt with stakeholders.Cheers

I talked to someone in PWC who mentioned that a major part of your Technical interview will be based on the CV and not a case study(at least in the Performance Improvement practice). It will be taken by someone who will be two levels above the post you applied for and they would just be looking at whether you have the technical / subject skills which they regularly require. About an hour long.Hope that helps.Sj

Also, how do you know the final stage is a Selection event (consisting of group ex, written ex, interview with Director/Partner).From their website, it's called a face to face interview.See below:"The Face-to-Face InterviewThe face-to-face interview is your final chance to talk about yourself, your past achievements and experience, and your expectations for the role. So be prepared to draw on your best examples, in detail, which demonstrate your capability and skills to deliver exceptional work."

Toluani,I have finished the initial Verbal / Numerical assessment and am waiting for the results. I received an email from HR stating the outline of the recruitment process. The last stage for me was the Selection day consisting of the various different exercises. Of course this may differ from practice to practice or across hierarchy levels. Yours may very well be the face to face.Good luck :) SJ

Hey T...quick question. I had 13 correct in the numerical section and 17 correct in the verbal section. Any idea if that is good enough to get me to the next round (competency)? Sj

I got through with 18/24 and 16/20 right in the verbal and numerical respectively.I think it depends more on your percentile ranking in comparison with other candidates than your specific scores, but I do not know what the pass mark is.Did you fall within the average band (percentiles)?Hopefully you should know if you made it to the next stage early next week.Goodluck

Found this on Glassdoor...credit to the gentleman/lady who was open enough to tell all.Round 1 was a phone interview which was pretty straightforward - HR type - to gauge behavioural aspects of the candidate. It is conducted by an outsourced agency and lasts about an hour.Round 2 was a numerical reasoning and English comprehension test administered online - takes about an hour and results are conveyed to the candidate within a day or two. if you've done GMATs etc, you would be familiar with this type of test. The results are shown where you rank for your profile compared to an average range.Round 3 was a 1 on 1 interview - "technical" interview which is based around your work experience and CV and whether you have the skills / experience necessary to do the job.Round 4 was a group and written interview - the written exercise takes about an hour, you're given a set of circumstances / case which you have to analyse and present your findings on 1 page - designed to gauge your ability to analyse information and present it in a coherent, structured manner.the next part of this round was a group exercise, where you are placed in a room with other candidates and all given the same case with different roles to play within that case. The group has to reach a conclusion within an hour and judged by a panel of Directors. You will be fed additional information in the middle of the case study and they see whether or not you share that information with the rest of the group. It's like sitting in a cage / lab and being watched by scientists on your behaviour - very disconcerting and odd and you can never guess how you did!normally there is one additional round which is an interview with a Partner.

Hiya, how did it go with the phone interview?I made it through the tech interview. Waiting for Selection day date which may take a couple of weeks... As u sadid, its CV based and started with me talking through my CV focusing on projects I had worked on in my former roles and this lead to lots of probing questions from things she picked from my CV and me talking thru my CV.There were also questions about the team I applied to such as what they did etc and also questions on potential clients like what would be keeping Investment Banking CFO's awake at night... ( this will be aligned to the role you applied to)Following this was questions on what the consulting team could do to help with the issues i identified. There didn;'t seem to be a set of questions, but more follow-on questions probing my understanding of the area i applied. My tip is understand your CV and the role your applying to and how it fits with the current economic situation ( how it creates opportunities for PwC)Goodluck

Hi All,Today's interviews are a little different from 20 years back. There are two kinds of questions to ask during your job interview: ones that get you more information (and prove you researched the company) and ones that get you the job. Do you know how to ask both? There are two types of questions that you should always ask in every interview. Both of them are strategy questions that help you hone in on what the hiring manager wants to hear and nudge him along toward making you the offer.Look to http://bit.ly/IiBR1R and see more.

Hi,realise this thread is a year old, but wanted to ask advice anyway.i have just completed my technical interview for an experienced hire (SA - level) role in consulting. havnt heard back yet - but i want to know; if i progress, what will the next stage be?could i get an offer straight up? or will it be a partner interview? or selection day? or both?my technical interview was long, included a case study and also mixed competency and more standard interview questions with the actual hiring manager.not sure what value a selection day would provide in addition to that - so just wondering if the formula is always the same in terms of number of stages?

YoBest see the most recent thread on the topic:http://forum.top-consultant.com/uk/83818/23/Pwc-Experienced-Hire-Selection-Day/It can be a longish process but the next step would be assessment centre.
