Hi All,I've found reading the other threads really helpful so I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me!I have been told by the Deloitte recruiter that they intend to make me an offer after the Assessment Centre, this would be for a consultant role. I haven't been given the details of the package yet (they said they need to get this confirmed). I am currently working in industry (2 yrs experience) on £38,000, with a 10% per annum bonus which I have always recieved so I would say my salary is £41,800. The recruiter originally told me that £38k is the starting salary for a consultant - do you know if there is any flex in this? I am very keen to join Deloitte consulting but would find it hard to take a cut. Any advice would be really appreciated, I would just like to have some background before I go into any negotiations! (Which I have never done before!)Noelle

This sounds about right. My current live data suggests consultant range is £38,000-£43,000 + Small bonus.I would try and push for £40,000 if you can because Deloitte are notoriously stingy when making offers!Good luck!

Hi joelDo you mind me asking what industry you work in and what part of Deloitte consulting you've got an offer for? The reason I ask is because I'm in a very similar boat. I have 2 years FMCG experience across 3 roles, most of the way though CIMA, and interviewed for financial advisory. The first thing the partner said during my interview is I may be better off starting as an analyst rather than consultant, so they've offered me £34k as an analyst for 7 months with a view to be promoted to consultant on £38k after that. Based on your posting it seems like I'm being sold short!Anyone have any advice?

Sounds like a brilliant move. Going from a secure industry job to a lower-paid one in consultancy. Presumably with more stress and longer hours too. Hey, can somebody nominate this guy for a nobel prize?

The offer from Deloitte is actually comparable with my current salary and the hours I've done in industry have been ridiculous at times (14 hour days), but thanks for insight :)
