Hello,I am currently at cross roads with Management Consulting and seriously considering my options of joining the industry. I work with a Big 4 as a Sr Consultant and specialize in CRM, Customer Experience and Change Management. I need advise on:- How to join the industry(I have never worked in the industry before)- Is it a good time to consider this move (market wise)-Any pointers on what kind of profiles and salary can I expect-Any suggestion on who might be interested Thanks folks,M

Ah - "the industry". Firstly get yourself on a project that delivers to The Business (capitalisation is important). In terms of salary I think you should aim for The Wedge, but accept The Wonga if The Boss is nice. You asked who might be interested, I advice talking to The Man, but if he is not available you could alternately look at The Public Sector and contact The Person.(Apologies - its Friday and The Sun is shining. In terms of salary the going rate would be between £21,451 and £23,212, reflecting the fairly narrow pay bands that the industry is offering these days.As for profile I would always suggest developing an aquiline profile - it has a bearing of noble stature and will take you far. It can be achieved by pressing your head hard against a wall for long periods.In terms of who might be interested, I’d suggest almost no one. Nice troll though.
