Currently work for Accenture and I am due to be promoted to Manager in the Techonolgy Consulting practise in the next few weeks. I had a call today from a headhunter at Deloitte regarding vacancies in their Tech. Integration division. Does anyone have any advice on whether I should pursue the opprtunity at Deloitte versus staying at Accenture, especially from a pay, career progression, opportunities perspective?

No you should not.

You should take the call, got to the interview, try and get the job, and then find yourself in the enviable position of having two great options to choose from.You can then use the Deloitte option to ensure you definitely get Manager at Accenture, instead of maybe getting it, while simultaneously using the prospect of promotion to Manager at Accenture to ensure that the offer you get from Deloitte that is equivalent to immediate promotion.You can also ensure that the money part of whichever offer you take is bumped up a bit.You may even find you prefer the culture at one place or the other.Time to actively manage your career buddy….
