Hi, I got an offer for an audit assistant manager with E&Y in Reading, UK and it seems the salary they offering is quite low, they offered 44k, is that sounds low or is that a standard for that level and would that be enough to live in Reading?Thanks heaps

It's Reading and it's audit, not consulting, so seems reasonable but then again I'm no auditor

that's low - and enough to live on if you're happy living in the areas of Reading which equate to the, um, livlier and moe diverse areas of south london - ie West Reading.take the role if you are sure it's better than driving a tube.

Entirely normal for an assistant manager in audit in London, never mind Reading.If you think that's low, perhaps you feel you ought to be a manager?It's probably about 1.5 x to double the average wage in Reading and it is obviously enough to live on - if you can't work this out for yourself and you are the future of the profession this is depressing.
