No - having points on your license is not a criminal offence... and Jesus Christ, if they checked out everyone who'd been nabbed by a radar, half the Consulting workforce would be out of a job...!

points wont make any difference...if it asked for that info and you provided it then its nay bother...i take it its not for public sector? therefore they just wanna correlate you are who you say you are - entitled to work here..worked where you said you did etcno more than a week or two - though sometimes this is dependant on referees getting back to them - if you agve referees chase them to make sure they're available and check they've received summit...after a week buzz the workplace and check how its going in case they habven;t sent them out / people on on summer hols etc..

offence was - Using a vehicle uninsured against third party risks - for which I received 6 points on my license, are these checks made during pre-employment screening or do these traffic offences show up during CRB...any answers greatly appreciated.

Well a standard CRB check will not show spent convictions - but a detailed one will. However it's really down to the employer whether they continue with your application or not. I would hazard a guess that because it is a traffic conviction, and providing you have been honest and disclosed it if you were ever asked, and providing your role does not require a clean driving license, then there should be no issue. Positive results on CRB checks do not disqualify you from work - it's completely at the discretion of the employer. I would suggest you do not worry about this one.
