Hi. I've had it with consulting. I can't go into the reasons here, but I'm looking for something which:a) pays the same (or more)b) lets me be at home by 7pm every eveningc) doesn't involve reporting to numerous bosses (clients, multiple partners, team mates)d) enables me to sleep at night and shed my IBS as well as that constant sinking feeling I have in my chest on a Sunday afternoone) has a bit of stability - i.e. no endless cycle of deadlines or constant threat of 'up or out'f) ideally which lets me work somewhere pleasant in the UK (i.e. no lengthy commutes or rotten public transport)My vertical expertise is IT strategy but I have 10 years of general all-round consulting experience.Any ideas, please?

What about EDS?I can give you an introduction to an IT Strategy role. Of course - you can go via the web as well.

My suggestion would be look for a job in industry which utilises your skillset. I decided to change tack after 2 years in consulting and moved into industry. Result is I now get paid more & have a greater level of exposure to senior management team and decision makers. On the hours front I still have late nights and long weeks but it is much more like a 'bank account' than consulting. If I put the hours in my boss is quite happy for me to take them back via early finishes or days working at home. The issue is finding the right role, took me 9-10 months of searching and I rejected a number of offers that weren't right in terms of the type of work I would be doing.

Couldnt agree more - move into Industry - Im moved into energy after 5 years in consulting. The job is easy i leave at 6 everyday, get paid the same as a senior consultant and get 30 days holiday a year. Life is pretty sweet - but agree that finding indutsry jobs is not easy - recruitment consultants are not as prevalent here, suggest you go direct to majors websites and explore what they have to offer in say the business development area, or account management side. Good luck
