30years -old, I finished my Ph.D. in Chemistry from a top University 2 years ago, very good academical tracks through all my career , I am currently work in Development Department of a big chemical company. I have basically only a technical background (no additional business studies, alhtough I plan to apply for a MBA program) but in this time got plenty of insights in the chemical industry (I work very closey to the Marketing).I would like to start as consulting for the chemical or life science industries, utilities would also be an option. Are Capgem, Mc Kinsey, BCG, maybe KPMG be the right addresses? Would I get an entry level( this would not be the best option for me)?Cna anybody give any suggstion or share his/her experience with me?

just started a grad scheme @ deloitte, we've got a few PHD students in our intake, so it is v possible

given your backgorund and skills I'd look to move into strategic operations optimisation type work. I think the mix of technical competence, academic excellance longevity would be sought after.

Thanks for the answers. How do you think industrial experience is perceived in a consulting company? Capgemini, for instance, looks for consultants in the field of "Chemicals" , the suitable profile seems somebody with some years of experience in the branch. Is the role in industry very important for a future employment (operational role vs. management?)
