Don't do it. Your career will stop dead in the water at Axon. They are a body shop with very little interest in developing you as a consultant -- witness no promotions across the board, and (what a coincidence!) no pay raises annual unless you're promoted. The guys at the top of the tree at Axon are making a lot of money for themselves, and as a business, the company is thriving. But it's a dreadful place to work.Since they focus on a few large clients, there's an excellent chance you'll spend the next three years working at Manchester City Council, Birmingham City Council, or Xerox.Deloitte is a strong brand on your CV -- you can do far better than Axon.

I'm also ex Axon, the thing is the company may have issues (no pay raises, no promotions etc....) it does have an upside, one of which is that the people (least those I worked with) were really great. But at the end of the day Axon I guess is going thru some terrible growing pains, I know they have lost alot of long serving staff and do have a high attritition rate, that doesn't bode well I guess. If it were me, I'd go for IBM

Could you say more specifically why axon is 'a dump'? I see axon as an opportunity to be take an increasingly level of responsibility quickly, given the high growth pattern they are on. What have you heard or seen that makes this unlikey? Tks

Well, they may let you take on more responsibility quickly. But they'll refuse to promote you and they'll refuse to increase your annual pay -- so you'll basically be doing more work for the same pay and title. Not a great career move in my book. They're a company that lives by chargeable hours -- they're not much interested in spending time or money developing their staff.

Well one reason is that incompetent management won't allow you to take responsibility because they want to maintain control/won't accept you as part of the clique.

I believe the negative feedback is not across the board though. I think it mainly depends on what practice and group you're in and who your manager is. I've been with Axon for about 15 months and so far I've received one promotion and 2 raises (one of which was a 30% pay raise). I'm also in the US. But I have a great manager, and I've never worked with such great people before. My fellow consultants are what I enjoy the most.Regards.

The problems are mainly in business consulting where the culture is very cliquey and political.Axon generally don't put alot of effort into making their staff happy so if you join make sure you get the best package possible: remember there is no pension and no job security.
