Peed off with PA

Did any other PA-ers out there find the message dismissing concerns about late pay condescending ?I've now missed my mortgage payment for the month, and will not doubt be hit with penalties, which PA, being the sort of employer it is, will refuse to pay up, no doubt. And as for expense payments being missed, don't get me started ...

Hang on, are PA not paying their people? Were you given a reason why?

Yeah, consultants are great at telling other people how to do things properly but they're shite at running their own businesses in even a vaguely professional manner.

Well PA is definitely off my list of applying for a job! Wouldn't want to have to work extremely long hours like people do, then in the end to find out there's payment delays!!!

It's absolutely unbelievable the way we've been treated. Was getting annoyed anyway with the neverending public sector roles. This now takes the biscuit and I'll certainly consider alternatives now, given the state of the consulting market. Don't be blinded by the comments of the PA cheerleader squad. There are a lot of disgrunteled people here, as there are in a lot of consulting firms. The rosy picture is somewhat false people.

over reacting??
13.06.6 00:00

Guys and girls, don't you think your over reacting very slightly? Yes there was a problem with the payroll last week. As was there a problem with the payroll at M&S the week before, and numerous other companies from time to time. These things happen. On the day we should have been paid everyone in the company recieved an e-mail direct from the CEO explaining that there was a problem - granted this wasn't the most appologetic of all emails but im sure he was concentrating more on resolving the problem. We also recieved a more detailed explanation from the practice admin assistants. We were subsequently paid on the Monday, so only really one working day late and we again recieved a full explanation of the problem along with an offer from the company to pay any expenses incurred as a result. Hardly cause to start looking for other jobs or for not applying to PA?

It wasn't that big a deal... just oneof those thingsAnd please tell me there aren't any AS5s, AS6s or consultants who were waiting for that pay cheque and couldn't eat, or go out that weekend blah blah- we're not paid that badly
