I am a senior consultant with a big company and want to do some training that standds me apart from other consultants within the Learning and Development area. I have all the usual PM courses and an MSc so what do I do next?

Why?I don't care what qualifications people have unless they directly impact how good they are at their job. Very few do. What I'm actually interested in when deciding who I want to work with on a project (and who I want to promote) is how good they are at their job.Very rarely does 'learning and development' play a part, especially not at senior consultant level. If you're already perfect at your job, and still looking for an edge, then get networking. Put your spare time into building relationships with senior people both in your area and wider in the business. Offer to get involved with their projects, widen your horizons. This will serve your career much better than yet another course on political correctness.

think you misunderstood - I read this as OP being a consultant in the field of L&D. Not my patch but perhaps an HR professional qualification would add to credibility.

Thanks for both replies. I take the point about networking and am demonstrating my abilities but always have an eye on doing something a little bit different and expanding on my corporate knowledge. Any other suggestions like joining a professional organisation like CIPD, CMI getting CMC etc?
