Hi All,Thanks for reading my query. I graduated 3 years ago from a top London university with a 2:1 in a European language and management. I've since worked and enjoyed my time at a research company, focussed on facilitating consultations between investment professionals and Strategy Consultants. My current role has given me a lot of transferable skills; account, team and relationship management, as well as a great network in the TMT sector, since we source industry experts to enhance our clients' market understanding.I like my company but it's very much a pyramid structure with very few opportunities beyond where I am now, and would like to move into management consulting, focussed on TMT. I've no programme or project management experience though, have not done much strategic work or worked directly for TMT industry players.I'm past the graduate intake window of 2 years, and my ideal situation would be to work in an international firm working on TMT but not on technical projects as I'm not an IT person, as an "experienced hire". How much training do experienced hires typically get before their first assignments? I'm willing and able to learn fast, and have the commercial acumen to identify opportunities and engage TMT clients, as I have a fairly good understanding of the market trends and challenges in the sector, especially in communications. I am fluent in 2 other European languages.Has anyone successfully transferred to consulting without the background, or have any suggestions for my next career move? Any insight would be appreciated - I'm starting to fear there are no further career opportunities for me and hopefully that's not the case... Thanks in advance!
