I frequent this site and am hoping that someone will be kind enough to provide some advice. I currently work at a US bank as a finance analyst and am interested in pursuing my MBA in the fall of 2007. My goal is to work for a consulting firm in the area of strategy. I will have close to two years of work experience when I begin to pursue my MBA. Is working at a consulting firm a reasonable goal with my level of work experience. Thanks in advance for your insights!

The strategy houses are very picky about where you did your B.A., where you did your MBA and for whom you worked in between. The ideal mix is 1) Oxbridge, 2) Harvard/Stanford/Wharton/INSEAD/LBS 3) Top tier IBank. Two out of three is probably good enough.
