Hi, i am an application developer currently working on siebel but want to look at a consultancy like accenture, pa, ibm - as a technical consulant. i have 5-6 years experience as a developer with design and implementation particularly in Siebel and .Net.My major concern is i messed up my degree and came out with a 3rd - does this now rule me out? i have worked on big implementations with new technologies and big companies (currently top 3 inv. bank) - but unsure whether it is worth applying.Any advice anyone?

Though you have good technical ability I am sure that there would be more concentration on your degree mark, I am new at accenture and nobody here has any real technical skills - we just go on training as and when needed - stick to where you are would be my advice

All the big IT consultancies have development capabilities hidden away in dark rooms somewhere. The people in Accenture's Solution workforce have some pretty deep skills and some varied backgrounds. At the end of the day an application takes what, 4 hours of your life? If you get through that begins to look like a pretty good investment. You might as well apply for everything you fancy. They may say no - In which case it's their loss!
