HmmmAldi vs Fortnum & Mason questionI like my football and was offered a season ticket with Man Utd but opted for Scunthorpe as taking clients to Scunthorpe would show my prospective clients a winning attitude and that we took them seriously. If you can't work out the Aldi from Fortnum's here then get a job in Tesco as a Master of Cash flow POS transactions - or checkout operator if it was AldiDC
Which is better for FS consulting kpmg or capco?
KPMG FS 'consulting'. It doesn't exist, its audit/risk advisory w@nk dressed up as consulting. Capco probably does actual consulting work but i've heard some horror stories, first hand too. I would go with Capco but have those exit options ready.Source: I've worked for KPMG (shudder)
What capco horror stories have you heard?
First individual was let go during their first 6 month probationary period. stated a manager failed to complete a feedback form for an engagement so was released based on the fact they couldn't provide a rating...assumed they were crap and gave them the boot. The second stated they had significant problems with people within the firm, individual is as mild mannered as you can get. Left to join a boutique consultancy after 1 year.A third left within 3 months, hated the corporate culture and stated their performance manager was a xxxx. Left to join one of the 4.I know a fourth who has recently joined, he's stated he's enjoying bar the traveling....wondering how long it will last.edit: On a plus point capco salaries are good, defo better than anything kpmg would offer thats for sure. So capco > kpmg.

True but you have to look at the types of work.Capco, while almost fully FS, is focused on low-end work specifically around IT integration. There is very little strategy and a lot of IT implimentation alongside ChangeSourcing (which is not consulting). It's true the money is good, but from Consultant - PC level there is a high turnover of staff. Culture wise think ACN on speed, and you're ability to buddy up with the ex-ACN crowd is key to success.

Kol1 you have revived two old threads on Capco seemingly to just slate them in both. Making the point they don't advise FS clients in strategy...well neither do Big 4 (regardless of what they say in the brochure).
If consultancies were soufflés.....Capco would be Angel DelightAnd not even the butterscotch flavour :(
Aren't they the same as north highland/quedis/whatever they are called now - a bunch of ex Accenture bods who they pay more to and can charge out for less doing the same work as they don't have the "machine" to feed on the back end? Baringa being the same as well?
