He won, he won! And now Cameroon thinks Murray deserves a knighthood?! Is winning Wimbledon such a big deal?

No it isn't and no he doesn't. Firstly, he's not the first Brit to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry. Virginia Wade did in 1977, and she put an end to 41 years of waiting for a British winner (compared to Andy Murray's measly 36 years.) She got a well deserved OBE in 1986. So, is 13% more effective at making Britain proud at Wimbledon. She had to wait 19 years to get her OBE, so Andy needs to wait 2.5 more years than her. On the basis of this (and not adjusting for the fact that he's male) he can wait until he's 48 which sounds like the right time to me anyhow.

But he is the first Scot EVER ie pool of talent a tenth the size of England so 36 years x 10 probability do the maths - not saying he deserves a knighthood for that but still pmsl when TIm comes on who won Fa in majors and gets to comment on AM also pmsl at the politicians - what's the saying flies round something ?DC

Not at all boring. Grand Slams are great; Ashes is equally exciting! You make time for things you like :-)
