Hi all, some desperate direction needed:I have over 5 years senior mgt experience for 2 big supermkt chains, namely tesco and morrisons. Role has consisted of mainly internal consulting for business transformation and kpi improvement. Really want to get into consulting. Applied a couple of years ago, got interviews with boxwood, capgemini, and IBM but was told need more experience. Can anyone out there give me some tips on getting into consultancy from industry?Thnx

I would have suggested Javelin, perhaps Kurt Salmon, maybe Cognosis, but with 5 years senior management exp at 2 of the top 4 multiples the OP looks (at first glance) to be off profile for those firms..?

Neither typically hire in experienced lateral hires (well they dont appear to anyway), and OPs experience probably isnt tech enough for Javelin. KS also very focused around particular categories in retail, with a particular spike in apparel for which they are very highly rated. Javelin are more SI type firm specific to retail. The fact that firms like IBM and Boxwood interviewed him suggests that his strengths may lie in cross functional work in retail rather than much more liner (if deeper) projects at places like KSA.Just my Monday surmising of course.
