Hi there all,Firstly, apologies if this question is a little vague.I've been working for a Big 4 for 2 years in Operations Consulting and have recently been promoted to Consultant. I've always wanted to work in Strategy but (due to not being good enough) was not able to and ended up working in Operations. After a good 2 years (in terms of skills development and experience of different clients) I have tried again to 'break into' strategy consulting and have been offered a role as a Strategy Analyst for an Energy Major. The role would primarily involve both competitor and potential partnership analysis and insight. I wanted to ask what my options going forward (after taking on this role) would be like, i.e. would I be able to then apply for strategy consulting firms in the future (as I would have more relevant experience) or instead perhaps rise up through the ranks of internal strategy teams for major corporations?Any thoughts or comments are very welcome and thank you for your time.
