Let's be under no illusion. In this dog-eat-dog world, you can no longer stand out from the pack by saying you go snowboarding, travelled China, or headed up your local debating society.And honesty doesn't pay, either: who cares if your hobbies are surfing the internet from the throne, watching 'The Bill' and wandering around malls?So, one needs to be a little creative. I managed to come up with the wonderful "I delivered my sister's baby when the car broke down in the peak district" as an impressive catch-all answer to those generic and useless behavioural-type questions; now what I need is a collection of mind-blowingly impressive hobbies that demonstrate all the skills a recruiter could be looking for and which, which a little research, I can easily blag my way through and won't be caught out with at a later date.Any ideas please?

You could be a superhero - also plenty of material about that on the web

You could become a special constable. Demonstrates great communication and crisis handling skills, although I don't think you can 'blag' it and you ay actually have to give up about 8 hours of your time a week.

Special Constable is a good one, although people may think I have aspirations to work for the local forces, or possibly that I'm either a bit of an 'officious' type or its duties may conflict with my work life. Also, they could ask for a reference in which case I'd be buggered.I like the thinking behind the idea however... it's exactly the kind of suggestion I need. Any more ideas?

21 SAS. Anyone can start the course who is reasonably physically and mentally fit and anyone can finish the course who is incredibly mentally and physically fit.

Nice try but somehow I'm not going to even try and pretend I'm in the SAS! For starters, you're meant to keep it a secret anyway right?

Why not say you volunteer with childline or Samartians or give free physic phone readings to the lonley? Expect those things have flexi hours unlike special constable (which my street savy son assures me are subject to ridicule and taunts by street savy boys).

I did Young Enterprise last year. That would be easily blagable, even if you say they quit before they made anything.
