I would say 80% of the MBA's on CVs I read are EMBAs. Some people are honest and say it's an EMBA, I take it as a plus but certainly not as an MBA equivalent as entry is much less strict and let's face it, if they can't fill the course they'll take anyone on for the cash.A lot of people sneakily put it as a "real" MBA, you obviously spot quite quickly that the person was working during the period of study and generally I personally will bin the CV as it's clearly mis-stating that person's qualifications - a few days of courses a month is not the same as 1-2 years of "living" an MBA. Overall, my view from recruitment is that MBAs often way overstate their skills for consulting anyway, though if they're bright and keen you can certainly teach them quickly, but the old days of them having the upper hand in negotiating large pay packets and signing bonuses are numbered. Consultancies will still want bright, educated and connected people, just they can afford to be picky. An EMBA gives you a slight advantage over another candidate without, but relevant work experience is always more important for me over any qualification. On a personal note though, if you think it will give you skills/ knowledge you don't have and the company will pay for it, then why not?
