Both are window dressing, relatively expensive to acquire and worthless without relevant work experience. If you are already getting interviews but feedback is that you are being beaten by candidates with these quals, then it's a maybe. If you're not getting interviews than they will not help.

+1 for MrCool, plus the two qualifications are so different it doesn't even make sense to compare them.Also consider the PMI one instead of Prince2, the former seems to be a bit more universal, Prince2 is supposedly slanted toward the public sector.

Hi All,I would partly disagree with the advice provided. PRINCE2 - This one is all about giving you that little bit of extra help in getting interviews for Project Management jobs. You must have the right experience, but PRINCE2 shows that you have the basics from a "standard" point of view. None of us use it, but most of my colleagues expect PMs to have something like it on their CV.Lean - Yes its a bit of a fad, but if you're going for an "Operations Optimisation" type of role then it doesn't really hurt to have this. Again, it just helps to open the door to the interview that little bit more but will not get you there if you have no decent experience.Rgds Anon

Not sure about Prince 2, but the other one, PMP, you can't achieve it without work experience.6 Sigma is useful, but became commercialised. Saying that, some of the aspects I learned proved useful in op engagements. If you really want to do this (I think it's a waste if you can't back it up with exp), then go for a master black belt programme, don't waste time on yellow or green. Thanks Mr CoolI did not get any interviews as I only start applying last November.I am trying to moving from engineering to consulting relaying on the transferable skills and showing my interest in working for consulting by taking up some qualifications.

Eng,If you are determined to add a qual to your cv then pay 100 quid to do the prince2 foundation exam. The prince2 book will set you back another 30ish (new).When you've passed put "prince 2 Foundation 2013 ( currently studying for Practitioner Level" on your CV.As a young "lady" once said to me while resting her sore feet on a barstool in Las Vegas, "why dress up what you're trying to sell in a thousand dollar Versace dress when you can get the point across just fine in a five-buck bikini top"

Oh come on Mr Cool, if that bikini top is underneath a nice Versace then surely that doesn't hurt!?!I'm not a big brands person, but prefer the ladies with a nice set of pins and shoes rather than 70's green tracksuit and stark white trainers...But do get your point and agree, PRINCE2 Foundation is cheap and a good start

I just thought to update this post as I have now attained PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification and hoping it will enhance my CV to get into consulting.

How was it?Do you feel "Princefied"!?! Are you now a super prince!?!On a serious note, I think doing PRINCE2 is never a bad thing if you are going on client site and will be running projects on their behalf
