Can anyone advise on how to get a start in a career in Management Consultancy after a 7 year career in the Army and 4 years in financial services. I am struggling as I only have a second class degree and CeMAP qualifications and they all want previous experiance at the moment.

if that's the case at the moment try some of the smaller consultancies - they'll be less concerned about experience - but it will mean starting at the bottom and probably below the pay grade you want to.

Break down what you have been doing in the Forces and in FS since, you probably have plenty of relevant experience, which you just need to package in a way which looks directly relevant to MC clients.

some have a tradition of taking on ex-forces; PA certainly used to be one such so may be worth a stab (not that it would necessarily be first choice otherwise but could get you on the first rung..)
