I had my MD case/ executive fit interview and Potentia with Accenture on 2 April just before Easter holidays.In my opinion the interviews went very well and I especially enjoyed the Potentia interview. I understand Accenture's SLA to break the news is normally 10 business days and it has been 12 days and I haven't heard from them yet. Tried calling them and writing to them but no joy. Could anyone please help me understand what might be going on here? Has anyone else faced a similar situation?Thanks

Prish and GR - ACN don't normally stick to the 10 day SLA. Hang tight and you will hear from them soon. If it gets closer to 20 days then chase them.

But what could cause the delay, it took them a good month to schedule the interview.Thanks

What do you think could cause the delay? You can probably have a good guess as any of us. 1) Team you've applied for don't really need anyone2) Recruitment is not high on their priorities 3) The recruiting manager is really keen to get you on board but HR is totally useless. 4) The project they were recruiting for has got delayed/cancelled and ACN does not have the good grace and/or the resource to tell the people who have applied.5) 10 days to "break the news" isn't a SLA. SLA means Service Level Agreement - usually a legally binding agreement between two parties.6) Someone's on holidayLook, 12 days isn't really that long. The best advice I can give is that at the end of each interview you ask the interviewer what the next steps are and timescales for those steps.

They took a month to schedule every interview but at least until now they were prompt in communicating the outcome. I know a few cases where ACN sent rejections fairly quickly (in 2 days) and took anywhere between 4 and 15 days to make offers. However, has anyone heard of ACN rejections after a long wait?

Ok, update the recruiter emailed saying the MD who interviewed will be in touch by this time tomorrow, and should follow up if I haven't heard by then. What does this imply?Thanks

I think that's positive. Why else would the MD want to speak to you?!! Good luck and please keep me posted!

Although I must say that's a bit bizarre!

In what way?

I mean in big organisations these things are taken care of by the HR and that's what they are for!! Why would the MD want to be in touch with a candidate??!! not to mention their busy schedules and that he has done his part (of interviewing) anyway!

That's the bit I am puzzled by as well. Perhaps someone else from ACN could share their views.

Have you tried ringing them ever? I tried a couple of times and they don't even pick up my calls!!!! extremely annoyed

I have spoken to them a few times over the phone & although delayed,which also is annoying, but they have been responsive. Depends who handles your application!

Day 14 and still nothing. Wouldn't recommend ACN to anyone!

Mildly amusing thread. It's a big company, relax these things take time due to approvals & internal alignment. It's a company of over 320K people and I'm sorry to break this to you, HR and the MD have other stuff to work on too - like how to tell me I'm getting a mid year promotion...

Congratulations on your promotion. Understand it's a big firm and things take time but I believe it's reasonable to expect at least a Yes/No decision in 3 weeks!

Pretty much all of it. Waiting makes everyone anxious to some extent, however your anxiety level will have no bearing on a) the answer from Accenture or b) the time it will take to get the answer. There are multiple reasons why it could take longer than 15 days to get a yes/no answer.It sounds like Accenture could have handled this better, but remember you're speaking to a HR person - a function not generally known for prompt and efficient responses.
