Hey BJ,I've gone through your exact case 5 years ago, and not only managed to get a job out of uni but now I'm preparing to apply for permanent settlement here. It's definitely much harder for you to get a job now than 5 years ago, as I think the rules are changed now that you can only work for 12 months in the UK, then you have to go out for 12 months before you can come back to the UK to work again (my canadian boss, and chinese colleague are going through this now).I have to say it all depends on the company you're applying for and their policies. Looking at your background I'd say Rolls-Royce would be your best bet. They are one of very few companies who are keen on getting foreigners in, and they sponsor (and pay) for your work permit. My Chinese colleague got hired in the UK and because of the 12 months rule, RR decided to move her into Norway then bring her back to the UK once the 12 months are over - they really go out of their way to make it work for you, as long as you're good at what you do.What university did you apply for ? It would increase your chances if you're studying at a target university and other big engineering firms. All the best.
