Tony, I think it's time that you introduced a requirement whereby one needs a user-log on, in order to post a message. This will cut out a lot of the casual postings which are normally a waste of time. If you don't act, I fear that the number of hits and distinct visitors that you get will start to diminish, since a key driver for people visiting this site is the forum. I'm sure it's not doing your PR and relationships with advertisers any good and ultimately could hit your pocket. Especially if the number of 'quality' consultants that visit this site start to drop. You only need to look at the lack of quality postings that there have been recently, compared to those of a few years ago. I've been a regular visitor to this site since the very start and it has been a fixture on my Favorites list. But if things don't improve, it may not be there for much longer.

It's not Tony who pulls the strings these days, it's the people who bought the site. And the Daily Mail are hardly The Guardian when it comes to their grasp of web strategy.

Thank God they aren't! The Mail might not be perfect but are much better at getting sensible points across - no knitted brown ties with them!
