Is it the money? Is it the "prestige"?Do you want to get away from the wife?or do you just really love hotels?Would you recommend consulting to a younger sibling or your kids?

Prestige? Only consultants think consultants have prestige...everyone else thinks (when the subject is brought up..usually by consultants) that they are just people who have missed the point.Wife? What wife? I challenge this board to prove that more than 20% of marriages can survive one partner being in consulting for more than 5 years. It must be the money. But again, those outside consulting look at what you have to give in return and see a big rip off and a lot of foolish people spending their short time on the planet in hotels

Is it the money? The money is OK but no bonusesIs it the "prestige"? No prestige involvedDo you want to get away from the wife? Husband not wife and we figure it out OKor do you just really love hotels? The points are goodWould you recommend consulting to a younger sibling or your kids? Not at allThe result of all this is that I am about to move to investment banking instead.

And you reckon I-Banking will be a bed of roses? The only difference between I-Banking and Consulting is that in the former you are sitting in the office, whereas in the latter you are in a hotel. In any case you will neither be able to see your wife nor be able to see your child grow.Any way, good luck to you.

Part of the reason for moving is actually having a permanent desk. It has a real impact on my quality of life carrying so much stuff around on a daily basis and hotdesking (back problems etc). Thanks for the good luck - I'll need it.Also, just as a gentle reminder, can people stop talking about 'wives' all the time. There are women in consulting too...

And there's the difference from i-banking. There are no women bankers - just females with balls and males with beer tits from not getting any exercise.
