We are testing a new forum over the next couple of days. If this .NET platform is successful then we'll extend it's capabilities by adding a number of new features. If forum users have anything to say about this new forum or what new features we should have then please reply to this thread.

Promising - how are the threads ordered? By time & date of the most recent post or by date that the thread was created. My preference is for the former as it would mean popular threads would be sustained rather than being bumped out by several inane isolated posts as can happen now.I shall find out when I submit!

I see - the user has the option. Very good indeed. This is much much better.

Edward, you can still access the old one which works on top of the same database at http://www.top-consultant.com/uk/forum/forum_list1.asp or press on "Old Forum" above. In terms of improvements we're planning to add email alerts so that you can find out if someone has replied to your message and also we're going to change the ordering so that messages and responses are shown together.

Yeah I like it but is it really necessary to call it a solution? New Forum would have done just fine.Bloody consultants and their sub optimal linguistic stategies. If this were a teachers' forum, would it be called a new online whiteboard? You may have noticed that, apart from consultants, it is the occupants of The White House who most often inject redundant words and/or prefixes and suffixes into their utterances. Friends, I hate to be the one to break it, but it is well known to everyone else that this is a device used by those who are trying to make what they are saying sound more intelligent that it is.Keep it simple folks. That way improved funcionality will be enjoyed by all end users.

I'm sorry to dissagree with everybody else but...As forums solutions go this is one of the worst I've seen. The interface is crude and the scripting technology it uses crashed my Firefox browser forcing me to use Internet Explorer again after 2 years. Its also slow (much slower than the old one) and the search function is unreliable (I just did a search for 'PA Consulting' and it crashed (after 30 seconds waiting). If you folks are paying money for this, you're getting ripped off. Try one of the industry standards like'VBulletin or Invision. This is no improvement on the old forum.
