All,Would be grateful for any help, tips or information you can provide me.I have an upcoming Assessment Centre for Deloitte in their Management Consulting Space.I know the basic structure of the day consists of the below;- Hour Interview with Partner- Written Exercise- Case Study Presentation- Group ExerciseI've been through various threads and other sites on the web however I was looking for a more up to date version if what this day will consist of.My main concern is the group exercise so any pointers on this would be great.I'm fairly relaxed about partner interview, but again suggestions are welcome. Finally any tips on the other two parts of the day would be great, my thinking around these two parts are to structure correctly and make sure I get the right point across. Thanks in advance, I appreciate all the help.

The group assessment worries me because you have to find the right balance, not being overly talkative and allowing other people to have a opinion but yet not being timid. There will always be an alpha male in the group whom will talk over people.Any suggestions are welcome

Don't worry about the amount of time you talk, also don't just talk because you think you haven't spoken in a while.Ensure the quiet ones have their chance to analyse and speak. Allow the ideas people to throw out their ideas and centre on what the consensus feels is correct and ensure that you have a structured reason for your choice of direction. Assuming it will be a time-based exercise, I'd recommend being the one who reminds everyone of the deadlines and keeping track of time and if you don't think you'll hit the deadline I would manage the expectations of the individual who you are no doubt going to have to present back to.Hope that helps,

Monks123, I think you have answered your own question. Yes, you have to be sharp and make timely and worthwhile contributions but do you think if there is someone consistently making 'noise' and talking over people this will count in their favour? HR will be used to spotting this behaviour as they practically host the same ACs week in, week out. Here's some good advicehttp://www.consultinggrad.com/groupexercises/Good luck!
