Hello all,Just joined up after a graduate friend suggested I have a look.So I have a question about consultancy firms and A Levels..I want to go into management consulting after graduating from my Business Management degree in 2016.From researching firms currently most of them want 320 UCAS points..I know without this the HR filter will eliminate me from even sending off an application. Now the problem is when I was taking my A Levels back in 2010 I didn't do great I got 280 UCAS points but did have extenuating circumstances at the time, which led to my under performance. However everything is good now personally no problems, i've just finished my first year of University and am expecting a first which hopefully sets the standard for my next 2 years of University. So was wondering if it was worth retaking one or two units to boost up my A Levels to the required standard?I know some firms don't accept retakes but some don't make it too clear if they do or don't.I'm also wondering that with my UCAS points situation, if I would be able to apply to any smaller consultancy firms for a year in industry? which would commence in September 2014.I don't know too much so forgive my lack of knowledge as i'm in the middle of researching everything..Any replies would be highly valued. Thanks

You'll find most firms will take into account extenuating circumstances if they have genuinely had an impact on your performance, but I'd expect they receive a lot of BS / excuses, so you'd need to make it very clear why and how your grades were affected.Other consideration is the quality of your degree, where are you studying?
