I'm interested in whether folks here feel a genuine connection to their firm. Whether they go into work not just proud to work there because it's a good, strong name but because they genuinely feel they connect with the firm and do their best work because of that. Is it a transactional relationship where you're happy to work hard since it leads to better things / gives your CV a great look? Or are you genuinely invested in the firm on a personal level? Do you feel a connection to the values?I meet a lot of folks who talk of using this place as great CV filler, get head down and move onto another one of the big firms or into industry. So it got me wondering - is that a common consulting view? Ta

To give you a different perspective, I enjoy the work I've done because of the respect I get from colleagues and clients. Not invested in 'the firm', but invested in the people, and I have respect for the people I work with. Also, I know that the development I receive will be useful. That said, I am conscious that it does fill my CV and look good. But I have never loved the firms I've worked for

Sometimes retrospectively I look back and I love the firm I used to work for, but all too little too late

Yes I think that's a good point that a lot will empathise with. I certainly feel a depth of responsibility to my colleagues on projects but perhaps not the higher leadership of the firm.

My "favourite" ever job was my 1st in 2005 - which at the time I was desperate to leave. Clearly my working life peaked too early
