I'm considering applying for a role within the IT DDV team and understand the application process starts with a Business Case of a merger or seperation. Can any one out there possibly provide some background on the business case & what kind of things I need to document? Also - would anyone know where DDV fits into PwC organistion i.e. Advisory, etc.Any pointers much appreciated. Thanks!

I work in PwC DDV. Yes there is a case study as part of the interview process, based around a deal scenario. There is more than one case study, so don't rely too much on any background you hear beforehand.DDV (Delivering Deal Value) is part of the Consulting division (within Advisory), but works very closely with the Transaction Services and Strategy teams (also within Advisory).

Hi PwC DDV, thanks for the reply, much appreciated..Understand the point around different case studies but would there be a general list of points that PwC would look for in a candidates response?also- the descriptor suggests this is 90% based in the London office. Does this sound about right to you? This appears quite surprising given it sits within Consultiing. Not that it's something I'd have any problem with to be honest.....

The recruitment case study is intended to test your analysis and presentation skills, including your industry and financial analysis experience levels. You should expect to calculate some financial ratios and possibly other operational metrics/KPIs.The 90% office-based descriptor isn't particularly relevant - as you would expect a lot of the work is client-based. However the DDV team is quite London-centric because of its specialised nature. There is some scope to work from other offices, but you should expect to spend significant amounts of time based in London. The location of your clients would be influenced by industry sector if you specialise.

Dear PwC DDV,I have strong industry operational experience and am currently in the process of applying to the DDV team and have two questions, one of which you have touched on a little already:1) A partner I spoke with said that the most difficult things about the job are the long working hours and uncertainty (surrounding your upcoming schedule). Can you elaborate a little on this? What are "typical" working hours? How often would someone focusing on industry (manufacturing etc) expect to travel outside of London?2) Can you elaborate a little on the career paths DDVers take after DDV? Clearly some progress through PwC. I was also told that many take M&A roles in industry. Where else do you see people go to? And do they go over to clients, either corporate or PE?Thanks in advance.

Hi PwC DDV,Are you able to answer my questions above? There has not been much activity on this thread, so I wonder if you've seen my post above. If you are still reading this, I'd really appreciate your input.Regards,Otford15
