Which one do you think is better IBM in their FS practice or Capco in their cap markets division at a Consultant/Senior Cons level ?

capco without a doubt - they are in a rapid growth phase too so a good time to jump on board.

Thanks.Wouldnt a fast growth also mean a fast bust or chopping staff during bad economic times ?Is the growth real ? Do they have real project work or more body shopping

Capco hired a bunch of competent ACN partners and are building up off that. ironically, IBM FS has some newish ex-Capco partners, so it's all a bit of a merry go round... IBM are pretty much sold out in that space, Capco historically have been a bit boom and bust but tend to get better quality projects if you want to specialise in cap mkts.

Maybe true outside of the FS world. Everybody has heard of IBM but that's not necessarily a good thing - the brand is worth tuppence these days.

'capwho' was a dumb comment - Capco are a single market play and well known in the sector that the OP was referring to (Capco being short for 'The Capital Markets Company'...)

Agree with rc. Besides, personally I can't imagine a more soul destroying way to earn a living than plugging the big blue brand every day.Blah, blah, blah - want to buy some tin, blah, blah, blah - we're really big. Blah, blah, blah, no one ever gets fired for hir....oh sorry, I've fallen asleep listening to my own sales pitch....At least CapCo are of a size and focus that you could build your own little world.

I worked for Capco. I came, I saw and I quit. Couple of obeservations:1) No proper induction to the company. Here is your laptop and here you enter timesheet.2) No concept of talent management or to understand who you are, what your skills are and what your aspirations are.3) X Accenture closely guarded group and staffed purely on that basis.4) During my tenure I smelled pretty much body shopping rather then true projects. Only had one project which was staffed with numbers like 10 people.5) I have seen many people who came just before me come and go out quickly. Also funny enough couple o them kicked out as they were on bench and coming to period where there employement status would be confirmed perm.Again this are my observations.

1) induction was indeed poor2) talent management - goes on your definition. If you can network and deliver then you rise quickly. If you just deliver then you could be in a different boat.3) Accenture crew landed after i'd left but heard mixed feedback about that change. Some see it is bringing soem much needed structure/ credibility/ network to lesser known brand.4) Some bodyshopping, probably less so on the Cap markets side where for all its faults the knowledge is pretty deep. Avoid banking/ wealth.5) There's no free lunch in most decent places. If you're sat on the bench for 6 months then what do you expect - a payrise and promotion?
