Hi all,Newbie here and pleased to join such a great and informative forum.I recently attended an assessment day at IBM that went very well. Before this I had a telephone interview with the hiring manager who advised me this position was a "Band H" which meant a specialist consultant with "7-10 years experience in one or more areas."Has anyone come across this band? Searching around I can't find anything on it. The positions is in Global Technology Solutions; Delivery and I specialise in Networking and Security if that helps. In addition to this, does anyone know what the car allowances are at IBM?I've been told I can expect an offer very soon, which is great, so I'd like to be in a position to understand what I can expect and negotiate if need be to get to where I want to be.Regards,

Not heard of a band h for a GTS delivery role before.Banding is usually a number from say 6 to 10, with 10 being associate partner level I think. If you can find out the band (or prg as its known) number for the role it will help, car allowance is paid from band 8 upwards with the amount dependant on your band.

Hey - Thanks for that. It appears that 'H' is in fact an 8, at least that's what I was told.I've accepted the offer they put forward and it included a car allowance, which is around 4.5k PA on top of their generous base.Appreciate the response.

Yup band 8 is car scheme E by default which is £370 a month I believe.Depending on what car you want and how much business mileage you do it can be better to just keep the cash and not get a company lease car as you lose out on some of the tax relief on mileage if you do.
