Hi All,I am currently negotiating the salary for a tax manager position in a Big 4 tax practice AUS. Does anyone know what the base pay scales are for the Big 4 managers?I've googled the subject of UK/AUS salary conversion and of some/most expat sites talk about a magical base pay multiplier of 2.2. Any truth in the multiplier?Any advice would be appreciated.Cheers

Not sure about the pay bands but the multiplier is about right. I would say anothing around x2 is in the ballpark. Each service line has different pay bands - I don't work in Tax but the top bracket for manager in my service line is around the $150k mark.You will find some living costs eyewatering, particularly if you're looking for the typical aussie dream of big house with a pool and garden, close to the city and beach. Rent, cars and utilites are significantly higher than you will be used to paying in the UK (presuming that's where you're coming from)I would say negotiate hard when you come over but the market in Aus has worsened significantly in the last year and a lot of the Big 4 are laying people off.

oz worker, thanks for responding.Yep will be coming from the UK, so am braced for increased living costs.Does the 150k include super? I'm near the top of my band in the UK c65k base, so keen to land in a similar position in AUS. Point taken re service lines I reckon tax is going to be down on advisory.
