Can anyone please tell me what the generally expected package for someone joining Deloitte at Consultant grade with 2 years experience would be?I appreciate it's an ambiguous question, but I would just like to gauge what the general market rate is.Many thanks

Around £40k (+£600 benefits), although it will vary depending on your current role and salary.

Calibri, your prediction was EXACTLY on the money - pun intended. Is this a decent market rate offer?Or is it worth asking for 1k more?Would this make a difference or should I just accept? The reason I ask is once I join, it'll probably be a while before another payrise/promotion - correct?Problem is, I don't even know what the market rate for a 2 year experienced consultant is!!!

Hi Ianke,It's 2 years since graduating - i.e. 2 years as a grad at one of the French consultancies, then joining Deloitte. What do you think?

I'd say it's a fair (and very standard offer). It means they are taking your external experience as roughly on par with internal graduate hires. You could ask for an extra k or two, but I doubt they'd budge much and in reality, it's hardly going to affect your take home pay. I'd just accept it if you think it's a role you'd like. From my knowledge (I don't work for Deloitte, yet), you'd probably be looking at 1.5 years to get to Senior Consultant, which would add another 10k, but that would obviously depend on how quickly you can impress and the market conditions at the time.Good luck.

Thanks a lot Calibri - you've helped a lot in informing my judgement. How come you haven't started at Deloitte yet? From the other threads, you've had your offer for quite some time?Cheers

Combination of a long notice period and a bit of travelling - I start in January. When you get the emailed offer (if you haven't yet), you'll be given a number of dates to choose for the induction. I believe there are 2 or 3 inductions a month for consulting, although none in December.

Hi Braveheart,Do you mind if I ask what area of consulting you have got an offer for? Do you know if the offers are the same across each business line? The reason I ask is that I have been told I will be given the details of my offer next week but in my original HR email she told me to expect around £2k less than you were offered - this would put me £4k below my current salary!Any help would be really appreciated - trying to set my expectations!

40 is about right, but personally I would not accept anything less.
