Does anyone have any experience of using LEAN Six Sigma in software development?The issue I am having is deciding what to measure. The nature of software development is that there is only one pass through the process and the product (Y) is always different from the last time the cycle was run because the requirements are always different.If anyone has used LEAN Six Sigma in software development I’d appreciate a bit of feedback on how you went about it. I’m scratching my haad at the moment.

Hi, My tuppence worth is don't. LSS was designed as a process improvement discipline . Every pitfall I've seen ppl fall into with LSS has been because they tried to use it in a "not fit for purpose role". It's also not a project mgt discipline which is the other reason LSS project fail/stall. It's a fine tool if used as intended, alongside Prince, ITIL, TOGAF et al but if you cannot figure out what to measure than this is a clear flag that LSS is not the tool.HTH,PC
