I have recently left ACN as a C2 to join Deloitte as an SC. The salary hike was good so I took it, have I made a mistake?

I don't think you have. From what I've heard the culture at Deloitte is more skewed towards a healthier work-life balance. While I cannot vouch for ACN, my understanding for Deloitte is that the SC post is held for 2-3 years (this is a general rule-of-thumb..2 years per post for high achievers. Posts are held for longer at Manager level and upwards though). SC>M>SM>Director>Partner. Can I ask what Deloitte are offering as the SC salary?

Sure it is in mid 50s.Not too happy with the 2 year wait, ACN would have been about 15 months if I had done it right :(Thanks for the info anyway.

It might be less than two years, especially if you've come in as an experienced Hire. The culture is very performance related - that being, if you continuously perform at the next level (i.e Manager) then you stand a good chance of being promoted

2 years is very much the pirate code, more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules. I joined from ACN at SC in Deloitte and got an exceptional promotion in 6 months.
