Good afternoon. A quick note to let you all know that a new version of the UK forum will be going live tomorrow which will include a number of improvements you've been requesting. We're maintaining anonymity as part of this upgrade but you'll see that when you want to post comments you'll need to be logged in to do so. You'll select a username the first time you want to post a comment and this'll then be your ID on all forum comments thereafter. You'll have to provide a valid email address when you register so that we've validated each person registering to post comments, but the only name that'll appear on your forum postings is the username you've chosen (eg. RecruiterToo) - so your posts remain anonymous. This change will ensure that we only have only one person posting under each ID which will improve the quality of exchange on the site (no-one impersonating other forum users, ability to look up all the contributions of a particular forum poster, etc.)As we've adhered to the principle of anonymity throughout the lifetime of the Top-Consultant forum, I wanted to reassure you all before the updated forum goes live that there's no change on this front. We hope you like the improvements to the forum and would welcome your feedback in due course...Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

Will you be able to run the two forums in parallell to see which one users prefer?I always though that posters pretending to be each other was fairly obvious from the style of the messages and often quite amusing.

Tony,New forum looks good. However, it may just be me, but the new forum doesn't look all that great on my iPhone- all the text overlaps, making it rather tricky to read.Tt

Hi Tony (and rest of the TC team), Everything else seems to be much the same on the forum, except I can't see a date on any of the posts anymore. Seems to be a bit of a regression in functionality since this was a useful feature in the old forum: you could see when the original posts in a thread were from. So please take this as a suggestion for a future enhancement. Bob

Thanks Bob. Top right of each forum comment you should see the date it was posted; and in the listings of the forum topics they are ordered by the date of latest updated post, with that date also visible. So not sure what date stamping you're referring to that existed previously but not now? Or possibly you're on a platform where the above isn't being rendered as it should be...Appreciate your input in any case.Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

Aha, it's just the ancient browser (IE 6) on my client's machine. Time and date appear fine on my own one. Thanks Tony. Bob

Hi Bob,I'll have a look and see if I can get the date and time to display in IE6, but I can't make any promises; in a couple of months that browser will be a whole decade old, so it's from an entirely different era of the web and almost, but not quite, entirely unlike any modern browser. Very few websites support IE6 these days, and even Microsoft has their own campaign to make people stop using it.I've done some very rudimentary testing to ensure that the forum is usable in IE6, though I agree the lack of a displayed date is somewhat annoying and I'll try to fix that.Regards,Matija
