Hi, I am currently an intern in technology consulting for Accenture Australia. I was keen to get into management consulting however they are only offering me a position in IT strategy because they do not have the demand to take on more graduates in management consulting. Wanted to get anyones views on this service line? I really do not have a passion for IT as i have found for the internship so would it be worth just doing a couple of years in IT strategy and getting Accenture on my resume and then leaving for a management consulting firm or would i be better off just re apply for mid tier management consulting firms now? Is the accenture reputation really that high?

IT Strategy in Accenture is Management Consulting, believe me they could not possibly be further away from IT than they are now. I would not want to be there as it is pretty shallow and most BS you will every come across, but a good break into MCIM this way.
