Just heard from a BCG recruiter that they receive over 3000 applications per year and hire 30 people per year, of which 20 graduate students and 10 experienced hires.Makes me wonder what the numbers for the other strategy shops are. A McK fellow I spoke did not know the exact number but told me the full recruitment process takes three months, the first month is the waitlist for the C.V. check o_O

Fairly meaningless statistic - the vast majority of those 3,000 are essentially spam.See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx4poQw1mZo

=D well that cracked me up ^^The numbers were for a western european country btw. Some employees told me they always chuck away a bunch english written applications as you need to know the native tongue to work there...

In that case, as well as the "I want to work at the MacKinsey (sic)" lot, there will be a ton of applicants who figure offices outside the US are backwaters and thus easier to get into, rushing to offer a visa to anyone from Hicksville College, Alabama.

Probably similar and probably the same 3000 people. If you want to work for BCG then you will also consider the other MBBBBBBs

On another note, A.T. Kearney in this western European Country hires four people per year.Man, are these companies ridiculously competitive to get into. They DO give you the most varied work howver, other consultancies rather have you specialize straight away in Ops/IT/Risk/Public Sector which puts more limits on your future options.

Even this Tier 2 receives upwards of 1,000 for its 10-15 annual places.
