I was looking at Booz & Company's website and it appears that they have an IT practice. Is this a typical IT Consulting practice (think Accenture) or a more management consulting type unit with a focus on tech strategy (think McK BTO)?While their website seems really broad in scope, I really doubt they participate in ERP transformation type projects...or am I mistaken here?Anyone have any information on this? I am thinking of applying to them so would appreciate any info.

Used to have a huge technology function but this now a separate company and was always primarily (99.999%) a USA thing.The UK IT practice is small and does stuff like IT strategy work and provides IT input to other projects. Because lets face it, IT is a big part of business these days and you can't really put together an operational plan or sometimes even a corporate strategy without considering the IT implications. It's high level stuff only. They are a very good team but you won't see them coding SAP reports or anything like that.

Thanks for the response Booze.Agree with you that IT needs to be a part of corporate/operational strategy. How is the IT team viewed as within Booz? I would imagine that it isnt viewed as prestigiously by the people working in pure strategy or is this not the case at all?Are career prospects (within the firm) as good for the IT team as it is for the generalists/strat folks?Thanks

The IT team is an integral part of the firm and has the same opportunities, recognition and prestige. There is no 'looking down' at all.

Are they hiring for IT advisory and consulting ??
