I would say avoid Baringa unless you like making process maps for utilities companies in industrial estates in tedious towns.

Hmmm? What would you regard as a tedious town? The rest of the job description sounds very attractive.

Depends on what you want. PRTM has more clout outside of the UK. In the UK, the high-tech side of the business is doing well, particularly the telecoms side of things. However, the company is still relatively unknown in the UK and certainly doesn't work at the level that it wishes it was.

I am the Recruitment Officer at Baringa Partners. We have three main business units (Wholesale Energy, Energy Retail and Utilities, and Financial Services) and a capability unit (Delivery Excellence). We don't just do "process maps for utilities companies" which I'm sure is very fullfilling to some people. We are a small successful growing consultancy with low attrition and some fantastic accolades (Best Workplace 2010 from the Great Place to Work Institute and 18th place in the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For 2011) which says a lot about our people and our culture. We partner with blue chip companies when they are developing and delivering key elements of their business strategy. Baringa works with organisations either to implement new or optimise existing business capabilities relating to their people, processes and technology. Our Energy and Utilities practice specialises in Assets and Asset Optimisation; Energy Trading and Risk Management; Retail and Customers; Market Design; and Networks, Distribution and Metering. The focus of our Financial Services practice is on Retail and Corporate Banking; Insurance; Capital Markets; and Investment Management.
