Hi Guys. Had a phone call from large consultancy to say they would like to offer me a position after going through the usual process of interviews, assessments etc.Over a full week later that offer has not arrived. Do you think I should wait or send them a polite note? Thanks.

You should for sure send out a polite email OR if you know their number, call and speak to them. Dont wait as we are nearing the christmas holiday season, so if you dont call and they dont come back - you might have to be waiting until next year.

Thanks for the reply, Consultant.As I'm not too experienced (my first role was a grad position and been with them ever since (6 yrs)) in applying for roles, I was more interested to know whether you think waiting over a week is unusual i.e. if you think they may have changed their mind and they don't feel they have an obligation to tell me etc. I'm not too concerned if I have to wait until the new year, I'm more concerned that there still is a role. Obviously this all needs to be weighed up against me possibly over reacting and the time elapsed so far shouldn't concern me too much.Thanks.

Nah, one week is plenty of time, so if you haven't recevied the written offer, there's no harm in contacting them.If I were you I'd give them a quick ring and tell them you haven't received the offer yet and are wondering whether they have sent it to you already or if they will be sending it to you after the Christmas break.

Just call and say you haven't received the paperwork. Job done and a load off before xmas.
