HiI have a potential offer of lower post with higher salary, and am intending to reject the offer because i see downgrading my position will show negative signals on my resume, specially am planning to apply for MBA, and biz schools consider a lot the career progression. would it be the wrong decision if I rejected such offers ?

good opportunity to examine your motivation/targets - e.g. what would you do if your current firm offered you a 'higher' position on condition that you take a salary cut? what actually constitutes a 'higher' position - title? reports? budget ?

I wouldnt accept if my employer promoted me and cut my salary, that is for sure. and in my opinion what define seniority should be more than one thing, duties which include supervision, or doing more sophisticated tasks, also means reporting direction, and that will be translated to title and higher salary eventually, right ? what am doing now is supervising like 15 collector and thier team leaders, and report to my GM as the company is small sized and we dont have a complicated structure..... its close to my house, my relation with the GM is friendly and not formal, and you can say the atmosphere in the company is kinda casual if you know what I mean.....but there is no more challenge and salary increases are limited, that is the way it is due to the company size and the market nature......money is important for sure, but its just am not sure I will adopt being with young mates in my age 36 even with higher money...donno

I think you need to take a hard and honest look at yourself and your career. Even allowing for the fact that this is an informal blog the nature of your written English suggests you are going to struggle with any MBA worth bothering with and are not going to thrive in an environment requiring strong written or related communication skills. I think you need to forget about the MBA and concentrate on your career : if you are going nowhere in your current employer and the other offer is with a good company with real career development prospects so you can a step back to take two steps forward then go for it. The step up in salary is a welcome plus. If you are not convinced about the prospects wait for another role that will be a step forward and/or better prospects and also a bit more money.

Thanks all for the contribution. The collectors collects debts, and I think that any employer will have some concerns when it comes to hire supervisor in a junior post, simply because he will not be sure that am goning to feel comfortable playing with younger mates, and leaving my advanced position ( if I may say ).As for the MBA point,I would like to thank you for the remark, am still researching and studying for the GMAT and the TOFEL, because english a second language to me.... am not sure yet, it is for me, and maybe I go for diploma instead, to be honest my long term goal is to start private business, and reallocate in UK or USA...so MBA would be a gate for personal development and networking...however, am hesitating because of my age, my english level and the long years being away of study.

But an advisor informed me that my chances are limited concerning my age ( am 36 ) to start with consultancy from scratch, by the way, I worked in several and different roles, like purchasing, Marketing, and debt collection.
