hi all, I've been approached by KPMG's Infrastructure, Government & Healthcare Advisory team. Does anyone have any advice on how they're doing client-wise and what they are like to work for? I'm a Manager at EY at present. Thanks

Oh, you got approach by that agency too? The one beginning with "C"?My fear is they are taking a speculative scattergun approach. All talk and no follow-through. The prrof for me was that they couldn't provide a job description for the PRECISE role in mind (only one that was similar). You might as well apply direct.

KPMG failed to get on the latest OGC framework for health advisory services so it's anyones guess how well they will do over the medium term because the framework runs for at least the next 3 years.More relevantly, they are hopeless as a recruiter - it took 5 months to go through the process when I tried and each time they cancelled meetings at short notice and changed the next steps. After booking time off work (at additional cost to me) to attend the assessment centre they cancelled it with a week's notice only to re-schedule it at a date I'd already told them I couldn't do. I told them to shove it at that point as their process was about as unprofessional as you can get. I landed up getting a much better offer elsewhere but other people I know have had a similar experience with them.

Yes, KPMG's HR is unfortunately woeful, the HR function is staffed largely by temps. I have heard anecdotes of people leaving and not being removed from the payroll for months. It's embarassing. However, having been here for several months now, I can say that compared to the full-service consulting firm I worked for previously, it's a great place to work, staff are well looked-after, good bens, good working environment, good people, good atmos. So if you can get past the incompetents in Watford (where the back-office stuff is) it's worth it!
