Hi Everyone,So i was referred, by a friend (manager) in PwC, for a Senior Associate role in the Risk Assurance practice. Within a week of sending my CV (did not formally put an application in) i got invited to a face-to-face interview. Had an hour long interview with a Director and then 30 minutes with a Senior Manager. I completed the interview and within 2 days i received an automated email asking me to take some online tests (numerical, verbal and inductive). I completed the tests and within 5 minutes received an email saying that PwC were "delighted to confirm that you've successfully met our assessment criteria". Question is does anybody know what the next steps are likely to be?Also has anybody heard of the recruitment process being this way round? And does anybody know why it might have been done this way round?Any help would be much appreciated!Thanks Ajit

Hi Sounds like they wanted to meet you prior to putting you through the formal process. I'd contact your friend to give HR a push if you do not have a HR contact.I'd have thought that you'll be invited back for a formal interview with the Senior Manager/Director and if successful you will be made an offer.Frio

Hi Frio,Thanks for your response.That was my thought as well, expecting at least one more stage.The interview i had with the Director was formal in my eyes, technical and competency based and at the end she said that she would like me to meet the Senior Manager who, if successful, would be my manager. The talk with her was informal and she just wanted to get to know me. Only completed the online tests yesterday, the email says that the recruitment team will be in touch in 5 working days, once they have reviewed my application.Do you think there is any possibility that they could reject me now? Considering i was interviewed, then they invited me to do the online tests?Thanks again

There's always a possibility but it doesn't sound likely. From an outside view it seems like you did well in the interviews and the online tests.

Agreed Frio, always a possibility of a rejection at this point but i guess what is working in my favor is that after the interview, they asked me to do the online tests. Don't think they would have done that if they didn't like me in the interview.Do you think there is a possibility of an offer at this stage or would you expect another round of the process?Thanks

I'd have thought there will be another round to complete the process as HR probably didn't get involved in previous rounds. The interviews you had probably didn't answer the standard HR questions that PWC needs, like:Tell me about a time you built up a relationship with a client.etcI may be wrong, but from what you've said you shouldn't be worried either way.

You'll probably have to attend an assessment centre and have a final interview with a partner, so don't rest on your laurels just yet.

Hi Richthekeeper,Agreed, i think there will at least be one more round if not a rejection at this stage.The email said that i had passed the assessments but they are reviewing the results.Unsure as to what affect the referral has had on the process apart from interviewing me first? I completed the tests on Tuesday evening so hoping to hear back by Monday of next week.Thanks

Referrals usually just mean your cv lands on the top of the pile. If you're at the margins of passing/failing a stage that might be a factor but often isn't. Don't be discouraged if you don't get a fast response, I've found the big 4 can be slow at this sort of stuff.

So didn't secure the role at PwC, which i am gutted about.What has confused me is that they said i passed the tests, got above average (not exceptionally high), interviewed well but just didn't have enough technical experience in Professional Services.In my eyes, my experience is clearly defined within my CV, that was one thing that they did know.

By "didn't have enough technical experience", what do you have? E.g. number of years, breadth of projects, number of employers?Knowing that might help future posters who want to know what "enough" experience looks like for a Senior Associate role in the Risk Assurance practice.I don't, but it's nice to help future readers, no? :)
