Hi I am a new hire within ACN and currently my probation, the feedback has been great on the project , from the MDs and Senior managers on the projects as well as the client. However, there was this one meeting where client wasn't happy about something and that meeting happened to be with my practice lead / MD who otherwise doesn't come to the client site as often as other Project MD . The MD has extended my probation quoting only that one meeting as an example and frankly every one on the project is surprised as to why . Now, this MD is infamous to operate with fear and I am not sure what to fix because the problem is there is no problem from client front or project colleagues front.... but just isn't being seen by the infamous MD.PS I am also been told it is becoming a standard practice to extend probations specially for experienced hiresAny advice is greatly appreciated, I don't want to hide away or be negative instead actually take it as a challenge and turn it over despite several disappointments

I don't want to unnecessarily ruin your weekend, but I've only ever known probations to be extended in Accenture (or ended altogether) where the person has not been very good. The answer to your problem is simple, get the good feedback from your MDs and Senior Managers and feed this back to the person who decided to extend you. He/She can reasonably penalise you if you're doing a good job. Speak to you CC, they will help.

That is the whole problem, I have had email from client saying good work and thanking etc. emails from project SMs and MDs with positive feedback so not sure what has broken in the processIt is not even that the MD hash;t been made aware but my project lead has also spoken to this MD stating the positive impact.... I really don't know what the f**** is going onSomething similar happened to another colleague of mine on the project who had come from the big 4

Lovely. So you slog your guts out, do a great job, and because of one bad meeting, you're put on extended probation.Whatever the outcome, it's time to move on man. Think of the extended probation as time to line up your backup options and give them the middle finger before they potentially give it to you.My advice: don't sit there like a rabbit in the headlights. Get that CV out there now!
